![]() Chapters later, Elder Whisper takes special note when the Unsouled visits him of his own volition, mentioning that Lindon is connected to the particular fate that will befall the valley. Lindon cursed the fate that led them there. What were the chances that it would show up at that exact moment? I believe that it was a fox made by Elder Whisper to lead Wei Mon Teris to Lindon. It is interesting that this Snow Fox set everything in motion and changed Lindon’s fate. The Snow Fox - The Snow fox is special because their patriarch is a sacred beast of the same species. The ancestral tree, however, would give Lindon years worth of vital aura. It would be great to see it pop up somewhere in future books and find out what it can do outside of Sacred Valley. The Orus Fruit - We aren’t told how, but apparently the outside world greatly desires whatever the Orus fruit grants the user. It is unknown how such species come to be (perhaps two advanced sacred beasts mating). We know that some bloodline abilities are born from the mixture of sacred beasts and humans. Most likely there are many races of animals that are advanced. Dragons and Reigan Shen’s species are young enough to participate in the Uncrowned King tournament which requires the contestants to be under the age of 35. Some other non-human species do not pertain to this class of sacred beasts. Like humans, these sacred beasts could develop madra systems. ![]() Advancement occurs through the absorption of vital aura. Trees can take 300 years, normal animals need 100 years to advance. Non-human advancement - Trees and animals can become sacred beasts. In the case of the Orus tree, Lindon used a script to determine the age/state of the tree to verify if it was advanced enough (minimum of 300 years) to produce a fruit that could help him increase his power. The runes communicate to the madra in order to produce a desired result. Scripting is the ability to manipulate madra using any number of symbols or runes for the benefit of the scriptor. I remember Will saying that it was the original plan but then things changed. Scripting - I was really hoping that Lindon would have stuck with this in addition to him learning his paths. After all, this single event set the course for the entire series. Could this be one of the properties of sacred trees? Maybe he could sense fate. Lindon could tell that the particular tree he was working on was different from the rest due to his feeling/sensing the aura that exuded from it. Lindon’s family is introduced.Įxuded an aura of peace - Lindon had tested 25 different trees, but this tree felt right. He creates scripts to trap the remnant and obtain the Orus fruit at the cost of a broken arm. ![]() A dangerous remnant is born of the tree's corpse and scares Teris away. Teris stumbles upon Lindon, blames him for the hunt going awry, and kills the ancient tree to upset Lindon. He successfully finds an ancient tree but is soon interrupted by an Enforcer boy, Wei Mon Teris, on a forbidden hunt. Using scripts, Lindon tests a number of Orus trees capable of producing sacred Orus fruit.
